    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

APPLIYA BRINGS EVANGELION TO THE iPHONE

Tokyo-based iPhone application developer Appliya Announces Unprecedented International Release of A series of “Rebuild of Evangelion”
Applications For iPhone and iPod Touch

Tokyo, Japan, February 17, 2009 – Tokyo-based Appliya Inc., a leading publisher of Japanese mobile applications, has obtained a license to provide anime fans with the world’s first iPhone and iPod Touch applications based on the highly popular Rebuild of Evangelion films produced by Khara Inc. The apps will be the result of a joint production effort between Appliya and Japanese game publisher BROCCOLI Co., Ltd. Their first Evangelion-related products are planned for submission to Apple in February 2009. More information can be found at http://appliya-inc.com/en/special/evangelion/.

Appliya’s initial offerings for Evangelion will be “casual” apps that utilize the visual style, characters, and storyline from the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. These applications will take advantage of the innovative touch screen on the iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as the device’s camera, calendar functions, and clock.

Neon Genesis Evangelion first aired on Japanese television in 1995, and then went on to become a multi-billion dollar international anime franchise. The story is getting a modern upgrade with the new “Rebuild of Evangelion” films, a series of four movies that retell the original story with new animation, new characters, and some new plot twists. The release of the first movie, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, was an exciting event, and the film won many awards, including the 2008 Tokyo International Anime Fair award for Anime of the Year. The second movie in the series, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, is scheduled for release in Japan in the summer of 2009. Appliya’s license with the franchise producers provides them with unprecedented use of elements of the new Evangelion story including character designs, weapons, and the signature giant cyborgs known as the Evas.
Appliya’s applications should appeal to an international fanbase that has long been starved of digital Evangelion merchandise. Anime fans outside of Japan often feel neglected since it takes months or years for the hottest anime products to reach them, if they are exported at all. Evangelion is just one of many anime franchises with video games, applications, and other digital products that never left Japan, but Appliya’s Evangelion apps will be released to a wider range of audiences, and in many cases fans will have the apps before the Rebuild of Evangelion DVDs are even available in their area.

    About Evangelion

After a catastrophic event called the Second Impact, the Earth’s population was halved. All that remains of Japan is Tokyo-3, a city that is constantly attacked by giant creatures that seek to eradicate the human race, called Angels. Fourteen-year-old Shinji Ikari is summoned by his estranged father to urgently come to the headquarters of NERV, a military organization that deals with the destruction of the Angels through the use of giant cyborgs called Evas. Shinji’s objective is to pilot the Eva Unit 01, while teaming up with the Eva Unit 00 pilot, Rei Ayanami, and Eva Unit 02 pilot Asuka Langley Soryu. Together, these three teenagers will battle the Angels, and decide the fate of the world.

    About Appliya Inc.
Appliya specializes in the production and publishing of iPhone and iPod Touch applications, and has released 26 iPhone applications since October 2007. The company has recently partnered with Japanese mobile industry giant Softbank Mobile Corp. to bring the unique elements of Japanese culture to an international audience through mobile applications. Their efforts include exclusive licensing deals with major anime and manga producers. Appliya will also have collaborations with Japanese artists and photographers, Haraju-ku fashion related applications, Akihabara otaku related apps, and other applications focused on more traditional aspects of Japanese culture.

    Konnichiha!

Kane, my partner (aka Super Hero Developer Dude), and I would love it if you would give our app a whirl. It is called PictureDialer and we strongly claim that it is the BEST way to call your friends! Heck, we strongly claim this to anyone that will listen!

Why struggle through a long list to find the friend you want to call when you can just look for their picture instead? PictureDialer’s scrolling customizable photo interface that turns dialing into a glance and tap experience. Tap twice to use an alternate number, and three times to email or text. It is easy! It rocks!

You can have an unlimited number of people in your list, and you can customize it like crazy. There are dozens upon dozens of choices to make your PictureDialer fit your personality, or even just your mood today. It makes having a phone list infinitely more fun, and it is free!

Give it a try, and let us know what you think.

    Hello AppBank,

I just wanted to let you know that Peekababe, the iPhone’s sexiest new app, was finally approved and also just came out with a hot new update!!! Thanks to the updates we’ve made, we are climbing the charts! (Our Lite version is already in the Top 100).

As you probably know by now, Peekababe–the newest and hottest iPhone app ever–features a variety of smokin’ hot babes who are just waiting to undress for you. With the flick of your wrist and a twist of your iPhone, watch their clothes slide off their heavenly bodies to reveal their sexy lingerie. Want another peek? Then redress them with the slide of your finger.

So what’s NEW in this update? Tons more hot, new girls!! These girls not only have amaziiing bodies, but we also listened to our fans and included a sexy stewardess, a hot safari chick, a dangerously sexy pilot, a seductive referee, and much much more! Want to check out the kind of naughty nurse any man would want? Then check out Peekababe!

Peekababe runs on the iPhone and iPod touch, and retails for $0.99…Peekababe Lite is FREE and is currently on the Top 100 Free Apps. (The Lite only includes few pictures to allow our fans to get a feel for what Peekababe is actually like)…And get ready for our next update (for both versions) which is coming out as soon as Apple approves it! It will include pictures that will satisfy every man’s fantasy…

Sorry to inform some that Peekababe does not include nude or pornographic pictures.

In our humble opinion Peekababe is the most creative, and has the best iPhone human interface of all the apps of its kind. Peekababe is unique in that it makes checking out hot girls FUN, but it is up to you to decide. We appreciate any reviews and feedback.

    From: Tony Verna
RE: Newly Patented “Instant Footballer Widget”

The Notice of Patent Approval can be viewed by entering; “ttl/instant and ttl/footballer” into the
    Published Application Section—Advanced Search.

    ———————-
By way of introduction, please visit my website: tonyvernaTV.com.

Having received the above “Notice of Approval” for my invention, “Instant Footballer,” I am in need of a specialized venture development firm capable of seed-stage commercialization, finding the right business strategy, plus the scaling, the development, and the marketing as it best applies to this innovation that has a rapid growth potential.

WHAT IS AN INSTANT FOOTBALLER (IF WIDGET)?

The IF Widget is unique, self-activating app that can instantly track the ‘game ball’ during a live football game and exhibit it automatically on the EXACT yard line, immediately after it’s been spotted between live plays— so that the subscriber can stay connect to the live game just by glancing down at the widget on the bottom of cell phone or computer screen, other, while continuing to talk or work away at something else. It’s always there during a live game. Whenever the subscriber desires, he can just glance over to see what happening in the game…right now.

The IF Widget does not have to be pulled onto the screen of your mobile or desktop. Once it is activated it lives there and is automatically refreshed until the live game is over. It lives like a little band-aid on the bottom of an iPhone with the placement of the ‘game ball’ appearing on a rectangular strip, or grid, at the bottom of the screen along with the accompanying game data—with the widget comprising a grid having yard markers which represent the yard markers of a football field and a football icon which appears on the grid, on the exact line of scrimmage immediately after each play of the live football game, the widget and the user interface both being continuously active, in which the football icon can offer alerts such as the ball instantly spinning when a fumble occurs or arches over the grid when a field goal is attempted and render the image without perceptible delay.

    DIRECT MARKETING TO SCHOOLS

First of all, the IF Software is a one-size-fits all product, that is made available for licensing as a disc, along with an accompanying instructional DVD that we would produce,

THIS SINGULAR VERSION OF THE IF SOFTWARE would be duplicated and licensed to a host of high schools and colleges, each of which would implement the software.

I would that schools whose games are not being broadcasted should be our first goal. These schools don’t have a way to reach out, and their always looking for ways to raise money. The IF Widget could be a key blessing for them and for us.

I intentionally created the IF Widget as a ‘stand alone device,’ one that would not need to accompany a live telecast, broadcast, or web-stream. There are no cameras, memo fields, or image processing, nor are there any electronic images, such as the first-down lines, painted on the field.

    INPUTTING THE INFORMATION

A GAME TRACKER logs onto the MASTER COMPUTER SERVER and selects the unique identification number of the football game, he/she is viewing, be it at the stadium, on a telecast, on a stream, on a radio broadcast or with the info relayed by phone, other.

The GAME TRACKER inputs the running data of the football game into a FIXED MENU supplied by a SECONDARY COMPUTER SERVER, which provides the ability to immediately input the data about the game, including the line of scrimmage after each play of the game.

The Game Tracker could be student (high school, college, other) who would be responsible for inputting the data into the template that was downloaded on his/her laptop…as he/she watches the game on TV, or streaming or listens to it on the radio…or he’s at the game. Whatever.

When dealing with the exact line of scrimmage after each play of the game, the widget and the user interface are both active at the same time, with the FIXED GRID INPUT SELECTIONS comprising 200 possible yard markers, 100 indicating the play going to the left and 100 indicating play going to the right, the direction of the play of the game, left or right, indicated by intensification of the color of the football on its forward tip.

The SECONDARY COMPUTER SERVER converts the data about the game to the placement of a football icon on a grid comprising the yard markers of a football field.

    TRANSMISSION

The SECONDARY COMPUTER SERVER transmits the converted game data to a self-activating widget on the user’s electronic device screen which is continuously displayed on the screen and updated after each play, the widget comprising a grid having yard markers which represent the yard markers of a football field and a football icon which appears on the grid, on the exact line of scrimmage of each play of the football game, the widget and the user interface both being continuously active, in which the football icon spins as an alert on a fumble, interception or scoring play, tumbles when a fumble occurs and arches over the grid on a kick or passing play. Currently, there are no such live Instant Eye-Catchers.

    PRIOR DIGITAL AGREEMENT CONCERNS

While it is understood that certain teams have prior digital agreements, what the Instant Footballer proposes is another cash tentacle for the in-house digital rights that the teams continue to own, and are always looking to exploit.

The alumni store could sell IF Widget Subscriptions to their students and alumni, finally offering them something more novel than the same-old tee shirts and stuffed mascots that they do each year.

SECONDARY MARKETING TO EXISTING WEB PROVIDERS

The IF Widget software could ALSO be licensed to current web providers, which are now supplying live scoring information, but without the close up of the game ball on its exact yard line. A special version of the IF Software could piggyback to their current software and operating process.

    FEASIBILITY OF MANUFACTURING

Before applying for the patent, I contacted a key Widget Design firm (without any form of commitment), to be sure that the software could be designed as easily as I thought it could be. The firm thought the widget design was most doable and they also weighed-in by saying that the widget would be a “must-have app.”

    START UP

The startup investment to build the IF Software would be minimal since we offer only one version of the software with the ‘skins,’ (school colors and emblems) easily inserted by the licensors.

Basically—-We make the software. We hand over the software. The licensor implements it. The licensor is obligated to feed the widget and deal with their subscribers. And we take a ‘gross’ cut.

Of course, a business plan would be needed to provide an overview of this strategy while focusing on short-and long-term objectives, but hopefully I have covered some of the key startup questions: Who will buy it? Who will sell it? How is the content acquired? Who would service it? What are the sales channels?

WHY IS THE WIDGET UNIQUELY IMPORTANT?

As the inventor of Instant Replay—and as the former live network director of countless football games and 5 Super Bowls—the ‘now’ shot that I continue to cherish, is one that I provided to those who were not at the game—an extreme close-up of the placement of the ‘game ball,’ as the official pulled the chain taut to spot the ball, exactly.

My recall of those crowd shots, and of those breaths being held, still rest with me, possibly because football remains a sport were the precision of the ball placement becomes so instantly important to a fan’s emotions.

As those feelings are still intact within me, I decided to invent an instantaneous widget, one that would be UNIQUE IN PROVIDING THAT TYPE OF EXPERIENCE, one that would impart that instant adrenaline rush of: “What’s next, will it be a pass, a run, a punt or a field goal attempt”— and to render that feeling without perceptible delay.

To do so, I invented a widget with a uniqueness that would reside in the widget’s ability to instantly track the ‘game ball’ during a live game and to exhibit it automatically via the IF App once the ball was exactly spotted between the live plays, and furthermore, to provide the widget with the capability of automatically refreshing that live ball placements until the game was over.

    TYPICAL SUBSCRIBER USAGE

For example, if I were an IF Subscriber of my high school, I could stay abreast with my team’s games even if they weren’t broadcasted, I could witness my iPhone app without having to interrupt what I was doing by having to click on to another page.

Of course, there are a lot of instances where the IF Widget could come in handy, but let me go to the extreme. What if when Army plays Penn, two schools I attended, and I am in Rome…while I can’t see or hear the game, the widget on my iPhone would still allow me to get an immediate gridiron feel of what’s going on in near-real-time. And as, I walk along the Via Veneto I could see a Nittany Lions’ FUMBLE as the Cadets recover.

POSSIBLE PLUSES FOR THE IF SUBCRIBERS

PLUS—I have also filed a patent on Talking Replays in 30 countries; it has been registered and the details can be found on my site. This could be offered ‘free’ to any schools participating in our licensing.

PLUS—Perhaps, there is a benefit for our licensors’ subscribers to have a direct connection (email, blog, twitter, web) with the Inventor
    of Instant Replay.

    FUTURE IF WIDGET

AN IF SOFTWARE UPGRADE could be tailored to provide the school cheers, songs, and trumpet calls or cannon fire on demand. And when I am walking along the Via Veneto and see a Nittany Lions’ FUMBLE, now I could actually hear the Cadet chant, ‘Go Army,’ on the recovery.

AN IF SOFTWARE UPGRADE could also be designed to co-transmit a MMS Messaging Signal can be tailored for display on Alumni LogoedWrist Watches.

AN IF SOFTWARE UPGRADE could also provide iPhone camera video image, whereby, when legally permitted, a Game Tracker aims his camera phone on the live game action and automatically overlays it on top portion of the (automatically inflated and deflated) widget when such a visual timely. This would be done in a manner similar to the content-layer form being used by the current augmented reality apps. I believe this could be a technical breakthrough for games that are not being broadcasted in certain areas, or not at all.

    THE END GAME

As the (approved) Claim 34 reads in the patent… “…when there is
a plurality of football games, played by two opposing teams on a football field having yard markers, comprising a master computer server which assigns a unique identification number to each of the plurality of football games.”

And perhaps with the successful accomplishment of having such a ”plurality,” the NFL might be interested in licensing the IF Software.

I believe in this type of SLOW-BUILD STRATEGY because of the prior success I’ve had in this area. With the telecast of Live Aid I was able to slowly collect enough local-station interest in carrying Bob Geldof’s marathon that, in turn, I was able to make a key deal for him with ABC-TV. I also had a similar success with a program I created for Pope John Paul II, where, despite being turned down by CBS-TV, I was slowly able to gather enough individual stations and enough international broadcasters to carry the telecast that it set the Guinness Record at the time, of over one billion viewers.

I think it can be done again!

This App allows you to send real postcards from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Postcard Star includes a free postcard!* We print, stamp and mail your postcard anywhere in the world with First Class postage within one business day of your uploading it.

    Features:

It costs just one credit to send a postcard within the United States and two credits everywhere else. Credits are just $1.00 each and you can buy one at a time. There is no need to buy extra credits and store them. Your postcard is printed on heavy card-stock 6 inches x 4.25 inches with a thin white border around the image.

You can create postcards even while out of network then save them on your iPhone or iPod Touch to send when you are back on the network. Postcard Star maintains a history of your postcards and enables you to sort your postcards by date created, recipient name, card name and whether or not they have been sent.

Postcard Star comes preloaded with a few commonly used “Quick Text” phrases that you can insert into your postcard messages without typing such as “Wish you were here”. Each user is able to create and store their own set of “Quick Text” phrases.

Credit card transactions are processed and verified by PayPal. You are able to purchase credits from within the App-there is no need to close the Postcard Star App and launch a browser. Data is encrypted while it is transferred between the App and our servers.

Check out my puzzle app, SwipeHead. It’s garnered some sales in Japan and is quite suited to the market there. You do not need to speak english to play. It’s a challenging puzzle game that is a puzzle just to figure out how to play, so I won’t give away too much. Hints: use the map to see where you are and where you’ve been, avoid the fish, and collect the cherries to unlock secret games. Good luck and Happy Swiping!
